In
Cantal, people started playing Tennis, at the beginning of the last
century.
The
Aurillac Club was set up in 1927. Its president was Mr
Mary. In Vic-sur-Cère, not far from Aurillac,
clay courts opened in 1936.
At that time, upper middle class people played tennis a lot. When they
came to Vic-sur-Cère, they used to put up at the Grand Hôtel, belonging
to the Orleans railway company.
The Cantal Committee Web site provides information on tennis today.
